Activate IPMI Service in Linux

$ sudo modprobe ipmi_msghandler
$ sudo modprobe ipmi_devintf
$ sudo modprobe ipmi_si

In default RHEL and SLES installations, the OpenIPMI is automatically installed as modules.

$ chkconfig ipmi on
$ service ipmi start
$ service ipmi status
